Jim is a CFA with 14 years experience as a portfolio manager and quantitative analyst. Prior to joining Benchmark Plus, he worked on portfolio optimization and construction for Bridgewater Associates in Westport, Connecticut. At Deka Investments in Frankfurt, Germany, he refactored an implementation of the Black-Litterman optimization model for a global tactical asset allocation strategy and managed with a partner a $1 billion US equity fund. Jim has extensive experience applying fundamental analysis and quantitative techniques in the selection of investments and the construction of portfolios.
He received a BS in Economics from the United States Military Academy, West Point, and served five years in the US Army Corps of Engineers before earning an MBA in Investment Management from Columbia University.
